Execute EBICS payments: VEU and email authorization

Configure EBICS Payment submit: bank VEU (default) vs email 2-factor when VEU is off; multi-admin approval to disable VEU; change history.

Configure how Cortena hands EBICS payment batches to your bank: keep Submit to bank VEU (default: payments wait at the bank for co-signature) or turn VEU off so Cortena uploads only after email 2-factor confirmation. You cannot turn off both. Disabling VEU needs every Full access admin on the workspace to approve.

Setup and statement sync: EBICS with Cortena.
Email confirm UI when the email gate is on: Authorize EBICS payments via email.

1. Where to configure payment submit

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → Banking → EBICS.
  2. Select the ready connection.
  3. Under Payment submit, use the two checkboxes:
    • Submit to bank VEU
    • Require Cortena email authorization

2. Default: send to the bank for VEU approval

With Submit to bank VEU on (the default), Cortena uploads the payment order so it is parked at the bank for co-signature (VEU). Cortena does not co-sign: finish approval in your bank software.

You can optionally turn Require Cortena email authorization off while VEU stays on. Then Payments can use Send to bank (VEU) and skip the Cortena email step. The order still waits in the bank VEU queue.

3. Turn VEU off: email 2-factor required

If you want Cortena to upload payments that are already fully authorized in-band (no bank VEU parking), turn Submit to bank VEU off.

Rules:

  • Require Cortena email authorization stays on and cannot be turned off while VEU is off.
  • Payments then use the email confirmation flow before Cortena sends the order to the bank (see Authorize EBICS payments via email).
  • You cannot disable both VEU and email.

4. Multi-admin approval when disabling VEU

Turning Submit to bank VEU off is a sensitive change. If the workspace has more than one Full access admin, every Full access admin must approve the request in Cortena before VEU is actually disabled. Enabling VEU again is immediate (no multi-admin gate).

Starter (admin who unchecks VEU)

After you start the change, the connection shows a yellow banner such as Disable VEU pending admin approval: 1/2 Full access admins approved. The VEU checkbox stays locked until the request finishes or is cancelled. You can Cancel request.

Other Full access admins

Each remaining Full access admin opens the same EBICS connection and clicks Approve disable. The banner updates the approval count (for example 1/2 → complete when the last admin approves).
